Rooftop city views, lit-up buildings, delicious cocktails, and quality music. You may think I’m talking about a typical party night in New York City, and though the amazing D.J and producer putting on the show is in fact from NYC, I am actually describing last Saturday night in Orlando. Drumcode Records’ very own Layton Giordani made his Orlando debut at the SkyLounge in Amway Center this past Saturday, August 21st. The event was catered by Shade Events and Vizion 1 Entertainment, who joined forces to bring a unique and banging experience for techno enthusiasts in Orlando.

It is no secret that Shade Events fancies the likes of dark techno, as we have seen in incredible bookings they have hosted in the past. This time around, we were delighted with Drumcode Records’ Layton Giordani, a New York born and raised D.J and producer. Giordani has been described as one of the pioneers of “new-school techno”, an experimental yet classic delivery of visionary musical sounds in the techno genre. Blossoming his career under the wing of Adam Beyer’s mentorship, Giordani’s talent has proven to be a force to be reckoned with. While Giordani delivery is very much fitting with Drumcode’s imprint sounds, he also brings a dark mix of immersive sounds that keep the crowd on a steady and exciting edge throughout the whole duration of his sets. The selection of venue perfectly matched the tenacity of Giordani’s show, bringing a city vibe to which this New York producer is no stranger to. The elegant and open yet intimate setting of the Amway Center Skylounge allowed for close proximity between the D.J and the crowd. This made it easy for attendees to fully receive the incredible energy transmitted by Layton, while also facilitating him to read the incredible burst of energy experienced by the crowd.

Not only was Layton incredible as the headliner, but also three of Shade’s talented artists provided the opening support for the night, transmitting incredible energy from the start. With melodic and dark grooves, Shade’s KYZA kick-started the evening setting the mood for the entirety of the event. Sounds were followed by GINZA who jumped on stage with a magnetic high energy, intensifying the potency of the sounds with a slightly darker tone. Lastly, Matthias rocked the decks as direct support for Giordani, keeping a steady, thrilling and powerful vibe, which most definitely carried on until the end of the event.

Needless to say, panoramic views and incredible sounds make up the perfect mix for an unforgettable night in Orlando. I personally love a rooftop vibe for a great party, what’s your favorite type of venue?
